Tasos Dourountakis was born in Gerani, Chania. His first sounds were the noises from the German occupation. He finished the primary school of his village and two classes in the1st High School for Boys of Chania.

He became acquainted with a large part of Greece while serving his military service. Later, in search of a better future, he got to know a large part of Europe and Australia.

In this book, Tasos Dourountakis records some of what he saw, that he lived, that he felt and that he heard during the passage of life.
