Summary:
As winter approaches, a filmmaker sets off for a six-month retreat in a deserted cabin in the middle of a forest, cut off from the world and any means of communication.
Moved by the words of four women, whom she had previously recorded and who have all dedicated their lives to various forms of spirituality, she begins a mysterious inner adventure bordering on loneliness and nature.
A journey that invites us to connect ourselves to the world in a whole new way.
Cécile Mavet
Born in Paris in 1983, Cécile Mavet grew up in both France and the US. After studying literature at the Sorbonne, she worked at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY, USA), where she directed her first short films. She later enrolled at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Belgium, where she also did her master's degree in fiction directing.
Her short diploma thesis, ''L'Appel'' (2011, fiction) is internationally acclaimed and has won numerous awards, particularly for her ability to illustrate inner life through cinema. Then she embarked on a long-term project of meeting women who have dedicated their lives to spirituality.
This ten-year adventure, where she has combined her own internal review with her work as a filmmaker, culminates in the production of her first feature film "Wild Women" (2022, documentary), produced by Dérives.
