Panagiotis Kountouras

Panagiotis Kountouras holds an honors degree from the Department of Film (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and the MSc in Creative Writing in the direction of television & film script. His films Unsung Heroes, The Wooden Box and Emoticon Man have participated in dozens of festivals in Greece and abroad. His award-winning film IVAN, which had its world premiere at the Leeds Film Festival, counts more than 90 entries and 14 awards in major international events. With Aristarchos Papadaniel he co-wrote the award-winning short films K. P. Cavafy: The City and Mauthausen: If the War Ends. His latest short film, Our First Flag, was produced by the "Greece 2021" Committee, honoring the 200 years since the Greek Revolution. In 2020 & 2021, he was selected at the Berlinale's Sarajevo Talents (directors summit), mentored by acclaimed Hungarian director Gyula Gazdag. With his recent short screenplay titled F*ck Netflix (2020) he participated in 15 Film Festivals & Screenwriting Competitions such as the popular Cinequest and the Orlando Film Festival. He has been a consultant director of the transnational program EUFORIA in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Cinema Museum, for which he created 15 educational films, while training more than 400 students in the creation of documentary films. With the documentary series My Name is not Refugee (TV100), he participated as a director at the World Congress of Public Television (Input 2017). In 2017 she was President of the Youth Jury of the 17th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. He was responsible for film programs at E Schools. Mandoulides with his students receiving domestic and international distinctions. In 2018 he was one of the 6 finalists of the Medea Awards, for global innovation in the use of audiovisual media in education, with the program Teaching History. He has directed more than 60 commercials, 180 TV episodes and music videos for renowned Greek and foreign artists. For four TV seasons, he was the initiator, director and presenter of the successful travel show SELFIE on ERT. This was followed by the television documentary series Shots with a Tail (ERT2) which he directs for three seasons.

Aristarchos Papadaniel

Aristarchos Papadaniel studied Tourism Management (TEI of Athens, now PADA) and at the same time, Graphic Design (BA Hons) & Animation (MA) (AKTO/Middlesex University). Award-winning director and animation creator. Author of the book Greek Political Caricature. The serious side of a "funny" art. Creator of the series of phylloscopes Pocket Cinema: End and the poster book The Apartment Building: A Comic Book Artist on TV (Syllipsis). In 2005 he co-founded the creative agency/production company Syllipsis. Indicative works include the visual identities of the TV series Shots with a Tail (ERT2) and the Delphi Festival Lalon Idor. His illustrations were published in magazines (Babel, Chorevo, Eleftherotypia/9, Athens Voice, PC Magazine) and featured in TV shows (The X Factor). Co-creator (director-animation), with the writer Sofia Mantouvalou, of the 1st Greek educational animated series A Letter One History (Educational Radio-Television-Ministry of Education, ERT1) about the Greek alphabet and language, evolving into an interactive learning environment (MEDEA Awards: Highly commended). Keynote speaker in the series of biographical documentaries From the Small to the Big produced by the Greek Scriptwriters Union (Parliament, Television) on great Greek cartoonists. Founding member of the Greek Animation Association ASIFA Hellas. Co-editor of 70 Years of Greek Animation (ASIFA Hellas-Greekanimation.com). He set to music and performed poetry by K. P. Cavafy in the audiovisual epigram The city (Where my eye turns) (Athens Animfest: Audience Award). His film The Song of Fates (2022) was funded by the Ministry of Culture (Special Program-Animation) through the Greek Film Centre.
