Dimitris Zapatinas
Born in Athens in 1976, Dimitris Zapatinas was fascinated by cinema from a young age.
Making short films on vhs and beta with his high school friends, he was sure to follow the path of cinema, television, etc. He started working as a sound engineer and radio producer at the age of 16 for local radio stations in Athens, as well as a DJ in local bars.
After graduating from high school (Pierce American College of Greece) where he participated in drama clubs, theatrical performances, concerts, etc., Dimitrios decided to study film and television in the UK. However, family health reasons made him change his plans and he studied film and television at the historical film school Lykourgos Stavrakos in Athens in the specialty of Sound Engineer, participating in many student short films. After graduation and 2 years of service in the Greek army, he took the exams of the Ministry of Culture and was certified as a professional Sound Engineer.
Later Dimitris worked as a sound engineer in live music shops before returning to radio where he had his own show and also worked as a sound engineer. In 2000 he made the leap from radio to television where he would spend the next 18 years on Star Channel TV as Music Supervisor and also doing voice over work.
