Chania Film Festival in Education / Chania Film Festival Edu

The educational dimension of the Festival pre-existed before the Festival itself, as since 2001 – continuously – the Cultural Society of Crete – a planning and implementing body of CFF and CFF Edu – designs and implements educational activities throughout Crete on audiovisual education.

The educational programs of the Chania Film Festival / CFF Edu were designed to cover an integrated approach to audiovisual and cinematographic literacy. They are addressed to primary and secondary education teachers.

In the context of the above design, the Chania Film Festival in Education / Chania Film Festival Edu (CFF) has designed and implements the educational programs:

• CineLearnings

  (training of groups of the educational community in the production of films in a school environment)

  CineGraphs
  (training of groups of teachers in audiovisual and film literacy)
• True Stories / Crete Education Documentary Project / CR. E. DOC (experiential investigation of the integration of the documentary in the educational process)
• Crete Oral History ( sensitization of the local community for the value of preserving the intangible cultural heritage, as an element of collective identity and memory and its recording).

  (program for the creation of a Film Club in Schools).
