Summary:

The project "BRIDGE" was first presented in October 2022 in the framework of the Open Sails Festival 2022, of the Municipality of Chania and K.E.P.PE.DI.CH.-K.A.M., in co-organization with the Region of Crete. The project consisted of a dance performance, a contemporary dance research workshop and a video documentary, which was presented at the Mikis Theodorakis Theater and continues its journey at the Chania Film Festival.

In the project "BRIDGE", dancer & choreographer Ioulia Zacharaki studies in many ways the concept of the bridge guided by movement in the light of contemporary dance and its connection with the elements of space. It seeks to equalize and translate the body as landscape and vice versa.

From his perspective, director Stelios Mantadakis testifies in a visual, musical video documentary of the research and creative process that preceded the dance work. Through a torrent of emotions, images and sounds, spontaneous communication with the places visited, their experience and connection are depicted as a process that the choreographer calls "integration and embodiment of the body with the landscape".
