Summary:
Pittas traveled alone in Europe from 1984 to 1989 and took 30,000 black and white photographs. His goal was to "see" the Europeans behind both sides of the "Iron Curtain". He took his last photo at the Berlin Wall a day after his fall. His dream was a united Europe and with the end of the "Cold War" he believed that his project no longer made sense. He put the negatives in a box and forgot about them for 25 years...
Lefteris Fylaktos
Lefteris Fylaktos is a cinematographer and lives in Athens. He has been working as a director at ERT since 1997 and since 2020 he is the head of the Department of Cultural, Educational and Children's Program for the Directorate of Television Programming. As National Coordinator of the Greek committee INPUT (International Public Television Organization) he participates as a moderator in the annual international conferences of public television. He has been collaborating since 2011 with the Korsakow Institut of Berlin to create cross media projects. In 2012 he completed postgraduate studies in the field of Visual and Media Anthropology at the Freie Universität in Berlin.
