Summary:
The village of Sfendyli had to be submerged in order to build the dam of the river Aposelemi. The construction of this dam would serve about 40% of the inhabitants of Crete but at the same time would force the few inhabitants of Sfendyli to be uprooted from their village.
How did residents cope with this situation?
