Summary:
A group of musicians travel to Syros to participate in a tribute in honor of Markos Vamvakaris. At the same time, composers, musicologists and artists from all over the world highlight its important musical heritage in the 21st century. It is a documentary about Markos' influence on contemporary musicians in Europe.
Nikos Skarentzos
Nikos Skarentzos studied film and video at the London College of Communication. Since 1991 he has been working as a director and producer in various productions, including documentaries, TV series, commercials, videos, etc. He has directed three feature documentaries: in 2008 the documentary Rhythms and Rhymes on hip-hop in Greece and in 2011 the documentary Open Microphones about political hip-hop. In 2012 he directed the video of the performances MARKOS O FRAGGOSYRIANOS presented at the Herod Atticus Theatre as part of the Greek Festival 2012.
