The World for me could be characterized as an underground history of the 20th century, in Greece and the rest of the world, which the author has traversed studying and revealing with his 122 films, with his 22 books and today with his Memoirs.

In two volumes, Roviros Manthoulis collects a chronicle of memories and trumpets. The World for me.

Roviros Manthoulis was born in Komotini in 1929 and grew up in Athens where as a teenager he took part in the Resistance through EAM Youth and EPON. From the end of 1943 until the Liberation, it was the “funnel” of Exarchia and Neapolis. He studied Political Science at Panteion University and in 1949 published his first book, the collection of poems “Stairs”.

From 1949 to 1953, he studied Film and Theater at Syracuse University in New York State. The dissemination of documentary in Greece became an obsession for Manthoulis and in 1960 he founded the “Group of 5”, with Hercules Papadakis, Fotis Mestheneos, Giannis Bakogiannopoulos and Roussos Koundouros.

The dictatorship of the colonels in 1967 blacklisted him and forced him to go into exile in Paris, where he has resided permanently ever since. His directorial work includes 122 films (most for French television) while his writing spans 20 books and numerous articles in magazines and newspapers.

He served as program director at ERT television, the first time invited by K. Karamanlis and the second by. A. Panandreou transforming YENED into ERT-2. In 1991 he was elected president of the Greek community in Paris.

He won many awards for his films and was honored for all his work with the Medal of the City of Paris and the Silver Medal of the Hellenic Parliament for his contribution to Culture.
