How can we study, understand and exploit a historical source? How many stories can he tell us about the past?
This book, focusing on a historical source of education, a service document sent, in 1954, to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and National Education, by the teacher and director of the Primary School of Vryses, Kydonia, Chania, Georgios Kanellakis, highlights the important role of sources for the documentation of the history of the place and its people, as well as the need to preserve them in time. At the same time, it proposes research routes of local history and history of education, with emphasis on the relationship between school and community.
