Animation Preproduction Step One Workshop

It is an introduction action to the understanding of the mechanisms of the moving image. The purpose of the action is 1/ To inform young people about the history of design and 2/ to train them in the creation of a handmade flipbook and its videography. In the first part (about 1 hour) there will be a discussion about animation, the steps of pre-production and screening of 2 flipbooks and the process of creating them will be explained. Then the ideas will be gathered on the occasion of keywords that will be given to children and will relate to areas such as climate crisis – growing up – conflict. Finally, a leaflet creation workshop will be held with the distribution of appropriate paper blocks. The video recording of the selected leaflets will follow and the next day, after editing by the team of trainers, the digital leaflets will be delivered and/or presented to the public.

The workshop is implemented in collaboration between the Chania Film Festival and the InArts Interactive Arts Laboratory of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University. The Scientific Coordinator of the action is Angelos Floros, Assistant Professor of the Ionian University.

 

Short Bio:

He was born in Athens. She is a graduate of the Department of Sociology of Panteion University and the School of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She also holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts from Northumbria University at Newcastle in the United Kingdom (with a scholarship from the Academy of Athens) on the Theatrical nature of visual arts/hybrid visual applications in theatrical practice.

He has held 3 solo exhibitions/installations and has participated in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

She deals with graphic applications and scenography in the theater as well as with archaeological design as a member of the conservation team of Akrotiri Thira murals and as a museum painter in Ephorates of Antiquities.

She worked in Secondary Education while since 2019 she is in an EEP position at the Department of Audio and Visual of the Ionian University, participating in the teaching of drawing, video art and image animation, while her research interests focus on the study of Modernist architecture in the Ionian Sea.
