Summary:

The limits of invading the peaceful lives of the inhabitants of Ikaria are tested when a team of scientists arrives to discover the secret of longevity. A comic clash of actions between locals and awkward researchers who thoroughly seek a way to understand the slow time and exotic idiosyncrasies of the Ikarians.

Stavros Petropoulos

Stavros Petropoulos was born in Zakynthos in 1984. After basic studies in Sociology at the University of Crete and postgraduate studies at the Department of Media and Communications of Goldsmiths College (University of London), he started living in Athens and working as a columnist, photographer and filmmaker for cultural institutions and magazines. In 2013 he founded the production company ALASKA FILMS with Leonidas Konstantarakos. As a director and producer he has created various types of audiovisual works such as documentaries, video art, TV and internet commercials, TV shows, trailers of theater and dance performances and animation. His documentaries "Dancing to Connect" (2014), I am a dancer (2016), Houses (2019) and "Microbiome" (2021) have been screened at festivals such as the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, CPH-DOX in Copenhagen and Sarajevo Film Festival. His latest film "Microbiome" won the Grand Prix award at FeKK - Ljubljana Short Film Festival 2022.
