Summary:
Petras is located 2 km east of the city of Sitia and is a unique monumental complex, extending over two adjacent hills. It has been excavated since 1985 under the direction of Dr. Metaxia Tsipopoulou. Three settlements, a Minoan palace and two cemeteries have already come to light.
Michalis Gianakakis
Michalis Gianakakis was born in 1963 and lives in Sitia.
He studied film directing and worked in television and film productions. He was also an assistant to Stavros Tornes and Makis Moraitis.
He has directed short films, television and radio programs, as well as theatrical plays.
He was a founding member of the magazine "En Sitia", the ecological group of Sitia and the Sitia Theatre. He has published a collection of poems.
