Summary:
In May 2021, my father's life changed forever. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had to have an operation that would change his life. Through the lens of the camera I wanted to capture his feelings and thoughts after surgery. Through our conversations I managed to rediscover my father. This film is a portrait of my father. A man who balanced between life and death.
Euripides Karydis
Euripides Karydis was born in Thessaloniki in 1981. With studies in journalism, cinema and documentary films, he has directed seven short documentaries (98, The Crossing, The Collector, The Port, The Picket Line, When I Die Let The Universe Burn, I Sometimes Maybe). He recently completed his first documentary feature film (Freedom through Football) which is the result of his PhD work at Newcastle University.
After completing his postgraduate studies at the University of Brighton, he wanted to explore the genre of documentary films even further. He has always been fascinated by the way directors investigated socio-political issues through sports documentaries.
